Merseyside Police confirmed the death of 47-year-old mother named, Michelle who died in an accident.
It was reported that the emergency services were responded to the accident involving a white Ford Fiesta and a garbage waggon at the intersection of Broad Oak Road and Delta Road.
After providing critical head and chest injuries to a female passenger, paramedics sent her to the hospital for immediate care.
A short while later, the grandmother and mother-of-four, Michelle Atherton, age 47, passed away in the hospital.
The statement released by her family reads: “Our mum was the best mum that anyone could have ever dreamt or wished for. “She had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up any room that she graced her presence with. You will be dearly missed by your four loving children, six grandchildren and your unborn grandchild.
“We love you mum. You were taken from us too soon. We will love and cherish you forever and always. Michelle Maria Atherton (known to many family and friends as Shelly). We hope you rest in peace now with your mum.”
What happened to Michelle Antherton?
Michelle was seriously injured after the car accident that happened with a trash waggon at the intersection of Broad Oak Road and Delta Road in St Helens, Merseyside, at 07:00 BST. After being transferred to the hospital, she passed away there.
The 43-year-old driver from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of causing death through hazardous driving. According to Merseyside Police, the driver of the refuse truck was assisting investigators.
Michelle’s sudden death has made everyone who knew her in complete grief.

Police seek public assistance:
Det Sgt. Kurt Timpson pleaded for anyone who may have information to contact him. He claimed that the woman’s kin had been notified and were receiving care “at this extremely difficult time”.
“Our thoughts are very much with them.”, he stated.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the MATRIX Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:
“Our investigation continues, and I would like to thank members of the local community who have helped us so far. However I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information that may help, who we have not already spoken with to please contact the incident team.
“In addition, if you live locally or were in the area at the time and have any CCTV or dash camera footage please get in touch.”
