Makenna Purvis Missing case: Explained
MaKenna Purvis, 19, has been missing for six months now from the Valley Head neighborhood of DeKalb County, Alabama, and authorities don’t believe they are any closer to finding her.
On September 26, Purvis was last spotted in Valley Head strolling along a tree line close to Inspec Road. According to Priscilla Padgett, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office’s primary investigator on the case, “We performed a major search in that region” (AL). “As far as her being picked up, no vehicles were spotted in the area.”
According to Padgett, they intend to broaden the search area to include more of the area near the last known location of Purvis.
In October, more than 30 members of the search crew combed the nearby forests, but they turned up nothing that suggested where she may have gone. Pagett promised that they will return to the woods shortly and expand their search.
She said, “Her family is really frightened.” They claimed that she shouldn’t have gone this long without getting in touch. According to Purvis’ family, they didn’t know why she was there. Two weeks following her last sighting, they filed a missing person report. Initially, according to the investigators, they thought she might have left with someone, but now they’re not so sure.
There were occasions when she might not have communicated with her family for a few days or whatever, according to Padgett. But her family is concerned because it has been well over 20 weeks. If Purvis is reading this right now, Padgett gave Local 3 News a mission.
She pleaded, “MaKenna, please, please let us know.” “Your loved ones are very concerned about you. We need you at home. We need you safely back home.”
The family is offering a reward of $10,000 for information that might help find Purvis. Call the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office at (256) 845-3801 if you have any information regarding her disappearance.
Our deepest condolences to Makenna’s family and friends.
