“I can’t believe my Cousin Joey (Joe Smooth) Joseph Jacinto has passed away after his valiant battle with cancer. He was a great musician and father and friend to so many. He always had a kind word for everyone. I haven’t seen him in person in many years, but we did keep in touch through social media and kept up with each other’s lives.
Rest in sweet peace Joey!!
You will be missed very much by so many. I really wished I had been able to see you one more time. Say hi to my mom and dad and your mom and dad in Heaven.”

Great player, Great friend, great human being!!!!! It is a giant loss to all of his fans and Music lovers, but even more so for his family and his fellow musicians who loved him dearly. You could tell how much he was loved by the turnout at Smoothfest last January. Love to his son Daniel and also to Ann. Love you Joe Smooth.”
