On November 2nd, early on a Wednesday, Philip David Woodcock, 60, lost his life in an assault in Rotherham. On Wednesday at 9:39 a.m., reports of a stabbing brought emergency personnel to FedEx in Rother Way, Hellaby. Upon arrival, Mr. Woodcock was discovered to have severe injuries and regrettably passed away at the site.
An autopsy revealed that he died as a result of stab wounds. On November 2, at least one attack claimed the life of 60-year-old FedEx worker Philip David Woodcock in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
Officials with specialized training assist his family. According to reports, a second man was involved in the event but only had minor wounds that didn’t require medical attention.
Last night, charges of murder, assault, criminal damage, and possession of an assault weapon were brought against Ronald Sekanjako, 48, of Bellhouse Road in Sheffield. He was kept in jail until his Friday court appearance in Sheffield.
Online tributes to Mr. Woodcock have been posted by friends and coworkers.
A friend wrote: “Yesterday was such a heartbreaking day at work; a wonderful man who had time for everyone passed away.
“The location will never be the same. Right now, my thoughts are with Phil’s family. “It’s sad for someone to leave for work in the morning and not come home. One grieving buddy expressed his shock at the passing of “a gentleman” who was “always smiling.”
Another coworker, who claimed to have known the victim for over 30 years, continued: “Stamp the words “honesty,” “integrity,” and “sincerity.” Phil was that.
“RIP, great man. His family is in my thoughts and my heart. Simon Palmer, the detective chief inspector, stated that his team was “working very hard to determine the facts of this unfortunate tragedy.” He stated that specially trained officers are helping Mr. Woodcock’s family.
Sarah Roberts wrote online: “Such a tragic day at work yesterday, the absolutely tragic loss of an amazing man who literally had time for everyone. The place just won’t be the same. My thoughts are with Phil’s family at this time.’
Becky Parker added: “Absolutely devastated to hear this. Phil is such a lovely man. Had the pleasure of getting my hair cut for years. Such a gentleman, kind and always smiling… love for his family.’
