Former Toronto Maple Leaf winger Jim Pappin passed away at the age of 82, the team said. With the Leafs, Pappin won the Stanley Cup in 1964 and 1967. He led the team in scoring that year and scored the Cup-clinching goal in Game 6 in 1967.

In total, Pappin would score 278 goals and 295 assists in 767 career games over the course of the north of 14 seasons, in addition to another 33 goals and 34 assists in 92 season-ending games.

Jim Pappin Playing Career
A two-time Stanley Cup champion, Pappin participated in five different missions in Toronto, where he amassed 54 goals and 46 assists over the course of 223 regular-season contests. Pappin, a general slacker, didn’t enter the NHL until the 1963–1964 season, at the age of 24.
Even though Pappin had a successful career in Toronto, winning two Stanley Cups, his career would take off significantly after a trade to the Chicago Blackhawks in 1968.

The veteran, at 29 years old, significantly surpassed his previous record of 32 by setting up 70 focuses in 75 games during his most memorable season with Chicago.
He would continue to be a premier goal scorer for the Blackhawks, completing a career-best 41 goals and 51 assists in 1972–1973.
After the 1974–75 campaign, Pappin was traded to the California Golden Seals, where he spent one season before calling it a day as a member of the Cleveland Barons in 1976–77.

Jim Pappin as a Coach
With a record of 12 wins and 14 defeats, Pappin served as the Milwaukee Admirals’ interim head coach for the 1984–85 season in the International Hockey League. He then was appointed the Chicago Blackhawks’ director of American scouting.
Mark DesErmia, a treasure hunter, discovered Pappin’s missing 1967 Stanley Cup ring in the Gulf of Mexico in 2007. The ring was eventually returned in exchange for payment when Pappin made a bargain with the treasure seeker.
Pappin worked as a scout for the Anaheim Ducks as of 2017.
