How did Isabelle Goy-Thollot die?
Dr. Isabelle Goy-Thollot, SIAMU’s director passed away. She was a member of EVECCS. This sad news was announced by European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society by sharing the below statement.
Dear EVECCS members,
Our cherished friend, mentor, and colleague, Dr. Isabelle Goy-Thollot, passed away this past Sunday. Isabelle was a pioneer and a truly distinguished leader in our field, and several of us belong to the ECC community thanks to her.
In the Vet school of Lyon, she created in 2000 the SIAMU, which was the first ICU in France. She was then the head of the SIAMU for 19 years.
Her professional objective has been the development of ECC in France and in Europe. Among several roles, she has been our devoted President from 2005 to 2008, and chair of the scientific committee for almost 10 years. Isabelle was an ECVECC founding member and then spent a lot of energy and passion in the development of residency programs across Europe.
We will remember her professionalism, her modern vision of ECC, and her perseverance in every project. Everyone who knows Isabelle will also remember her elegance and sense of humor!
Our deepest sympathies and thoughts of support go out to her family and friends.
Sincerely, EVECCS
