Anadalay Gomez, a young Hooker high school graduate perished in a horrific accident, leaving her family and friends in grief. Gomez’s family, friends, and neighborhood have been posting on social media about their sorrow and requesting prayers for her.

Beaver County Accident
On July 31st, at around 5:10 p.m., a tragic collision happened on US-270 at Hollow N1590 Road, which is located 14 miles south and 20 miles east of Beaver, Oklahoma.
A 2009 Toyota Corolla 4 door driven by Anadalay Gomez Mendoza, age 18, of Adams, Oklahoma, rear-ended the 2020 Ram 3500 pickup truck being operated by Karl Russel Jett, 73, of Laverne, Oklahoma, as he attempted a left turn while traveling west on US-270.
After being trapped inside the car for about two hours and thirty-five minutes, Beaver Fire used its jaws of life to rescue Mendoza.
She was pronounced dead at the scene of the head, trunk internal, trunk external, arms, and leg injuries by Medical Examiner Jonathan Aston. Jett was unharmed.

On the evening of July 31, 2023, recent Hooker High School graduate, Anadalay Gomez, died in a tragic car accident. We are all saddened by this loss. Teachers , clergy and staff will be available in the HHS Old Gym from 1-3pm Tuesday, August 1, for students to come and visit.
