Mark Anderson Passed away

Storm Bowling, the storm Products company has announced this sad news on their social media page in the following statement,

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our longtime friend of Storm, Mark Anderson, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Mark has been in the bowling business since his early days with John Gaines at Country Club Lanes in Baltimore. But most of you have met Mark as the operator of the Storm Booth at the Open Championships and at the Reno National Bowling Stadium for 20+ years.

The company explained about his personality, saying, “A big man with an even larger personality, Mark loved the art of the deal and the carousel of bowlers that came through the shop. He assembled and, in some cases, created the apparel. His eye for fashion and professionalism made a tremendous partnership and made the Storm Booth the most heavily trafficked location at the tournament. Even while battling the last few years, Mark and his wife Char continued to manage operations and share expertise with the many bowlers coming through. He and his wife routinely adopted older dogs from local shelters that no one wanted so they could live out their days loved and spoiled.

He was a loyal husband, partner, and friend to so many of us. Those who worked with him knew him to be a devoted teammate who worked long hours servicing bowlers. His contributions to the game and laughter he brought will be remembered and cherished.”

We here at Storm Products send our deepest condolences to his wife Char and their family and friends in this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, they ask that you support the X Out Breast Cancer Foundation.
