We’re sorry to have to inform you that Pegeen Sararana has passed away. Pegeen Sararana was regarded as having a friendly personality. The Pamplona massacre, which claimed the life of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo and eight other people, was covered by Sararaa while she was in Negros Oriental, according to CDN. Around three o’clock on Sunday, March 12, Sararaa was riding along with her boyfriend, Niel Ian Balcobero, on his motorcycle. At a junction in Barangay Tampi, San Jose, they were going to make a left turn when an elf truck struck their car as it passed a long-bed truck. Sararaa and Balcobero were admitted right away to the Municipality of Sibulan’s Negros Polymedic Hospital. Sararaa lost consciousness until she passed away, but Balcobero survived.

“Pegeen succumbed to head injuries.”
According to police sources, the elf truck’s driver was Nielric Tano Gaso, a local of Amlan town. After the completion of the 18-hour mandatory time, he was released from custody at the San Jose Police Station.

“The police investigator said that since the family is yet to file a formal complaint against the suspect, they were left with no other choice but to release the driver.”
Late on March 12, Sararaa’s father and sister Claire arrived in Negros Oriental. Claire told the Inquirer,
“She still has a lot of plans for us. She was a family-oriented person who always remembers us even if she was away for work,”
“It’s very hard to believe what had happened to my sister.”
