Rolando Felipe is an 18-year-old suspect who was arrested by the police in connection with the shooting of two boys. The two boys were shot as they walked in the 900 block of Zion Street just before 3 p.m. Friday. The location is a few blocks south of Children’s Hospital.

In connection with a shooting on Saturday that left a 12-year-old dead and a 14-year-old injured in Colorado, police detained a man. According to a news release, Rolando Felipe, 18, was detained Saturday night at about 10:30 p.m. He was charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree attempted murder. The same day, at around 2:58 pm, police were called to a gunshot in Aurora municipality, which is situated about 25 minutes east of Denver.

Two youngsters walking up the street from inside an Acura vehicle were injured as a result of the shooting. A short while later, the 12-year-old was tragically declared dead, and the 14-year-old is still being treated for critical injuries in the hospital.

Initial information gathered by responding cops suggested that bullets were fired at the two youngsters walking up the street from inside an Acura vehicle. Then that automobile promptly drove away, but it was later found. A person of interest who is known to the victims was promptly identified and apprehended by Aurora Police Officers using this information as well as additional information gathered by responding officers. The police stated, This person, a young adult, will not be identified unless they are officially charged.

Police statement:

APD’s Matt Longshore told reporters at the shooting scene on Friday night, “This is a very tragic situation. A young boy has lost his life, another is hospitalized, that’s why we’re asking the community about this incident. Youth violence continues to be an issue metro-wide.”

Felipe will face charges from the 18th Judicial District of Arapahoe County, which did not immediately respond to demands for comment. At this time, it is unknown if Felipe has a lawyer.
