Chidubem Osuagwu is a 22 year-old -suspect, who was detained by the Enugu Police Command and is currently facing charges for allegedly killing Amarachi Chukwu.
Daniel Ndukwe, police spokesperson in Enugu, reported Osuagwu allegedly killed one Amarachi Chukwu (32), his “sugar mummy” on November 1 at her residence in Awkunanaw, Enugu metropolis.
Chukwu was Osuagwu’s “sugar mummy,” or older boyfriend. This was stated in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu on Friday by the command’s spokesperson, Mr. Daniel Ndukwe.
What happened to Amarachi Chukwu?
According to Ndukwe, on November 8 at Owerri, Imo, within the Nekede axis, police officers from the Imo Command and the State Criminal Investigation Department, Enugu, working together, detained Osuagwu.
He said that “he was trying to sell a Toyota Corolla automobile that he had stolen from Chukwu, an older female lover, after killing her on November 1 in her home in Meniru, Awkunanaw within the Enugu metropolis.”
“Investigation found that the suspect and his at-large cohort conspired and went to the victim’s residence in the morning hours of the specified day, attempting to steal her Toyota Corolla key, which she refused.”
When she resisted, they bound her hands, legs, and mouth with clothing, locked her inside the house, and drove off in the car.
How did Amarachi Chukwu die?
Osuagwu killed one Amarachi Chukwu and robbed her Toyota Corolla. Her decomposing remains were discovered in the flat on November 4. After police officers from the Ikirike Police Division of the Command forced the door open. In response to a report that an offensive odor was oozing out of the apartment.
“The police operatives evacuated the remains to the hospital, where doctors confirmed her dead. Her corpse deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy,” he said.
The suspect was arraigned in court following the completion of the investigation, according to the police spokesman. He is held in the Enugu Custodial Center for further hearing on the matter.
