The remains of Pacey Nathaniel Staines, a missing person from Geary County, have been discovered by local law authorities.
A probable missing person call was made to the sheriff’s office on Sunday, August 20 at 9 p.m., according to a press release. The 5300 block of North Dietrich Road is where Pacey Nathaniel Staines went hunting. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
Staines entered a wooded area alone himself while out hunting on August 20 at 7:45 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office. Around 12:45 p.m. on August 20, Staines was last spoken to by someone.
The sheriff’s office responded to the scene, and Staines was not found after extensive searching. Until the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Shawnee Fire Department, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Kansas Highway Patrol, and Junction City Fire Department were able to begin a search throughout the day, Geary County Sheriff’s Office deputies remained in the area.
Staines was described as a Caucasian male, age 24, standing at about 5’6″, weighing around 130 pounds, and having brown hair and eyes.

Staines was sought for relentlessly until his body was discovered. Investigations are still ongoing to learn more about how he died and how he ended up missing.
