According to a statement released on Wednesday by Maj. Philip Kulczewski, a spokesperson for the depot, Pfc. Noah Evans, 21, passed away on April 18, at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina.

According to Kulczweski, Evans, a native of Decatur, Georgia, was assigned to Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment. Evans was unmarried.

Evans’ family has been informed, the depot confirmed to Marine Corps Times.

The depot wrote on Facebook,

“On Tuesday, April 18th, Private First Class Noah Evans passed away while conducting a physical fitness test aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.

Our deepest condolences go out to Noah’s family and to the Marines and staff of Mike Company.”

According to the Hilton Head Island Packet, Evans is the fourth recruit to pass away at Parris Island, South Carolina, in the last two years.
