Nasser Abu Hamid, a 51-year-old Palestinian cancer patient who was imprisoned in Israel, passed away there after a protracted illness as a result of medical negligence, according to the Commission of Detainees Affairs.
Nasser Abu Hamid was a founding member of Fatah’s al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade and a participant in the infamous Ramallah lynch in 2000 carried out shooting strikes. This resulted in the deaths of seven Israelis.
In 2000, Abu Hamid participated in the Ramallah Lynching and that resulted in the deaths of three Israelis. In 2002, he also organized and oversaw three terrorist assaults.

He was a Ramallah lynch participant who was under the Israeli custody for a long time passed away this morning. The Palestinian Authority accuses Israel of misconduct.
The Israeli government was charged with “deliberate medical negligence” by the Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.

Nasser Abu Hamid passed away from cancer on Tuesday morning in an Israeli prison hospital. Abu Hamid passed away while being treated at the Yitzhak Shamir Medical Center, according to the Israel Prison Service.
Israel was accused of “deliberate medical incompetence” by the Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs. This charge was made after Any Palestinian may pass away from health issues while incarcerated or soon after being released.
As Abu Hamid’s health deteriorated in recent months, human rights organizations and Palestinian terrorist movements called for his release.

After Abu Hamid’s passing on Tuesday, the Fatah organization declared a comprehensive strike across the Ramallah governorate. Palestinian detainees indicated that they will also protest in light of the death.

At 6 AM local time today, Abu Hamid’s family members and the PA’s Authority announced that the senior Fatah leader had passed away in an Israeli prison.
Nasser Abu Hamid cause of death was cancer. Abu Hamid, who had been given seven life sentences for his role in the murder of Israelis, passed away from cancer while being treated in a hospital.
However, until Israel returns his body, his family members said they would observe the customs of mourning. A similar request has been made formally by Hussein al-Sheikh, the PA’s Minister of Civil Affairs and Abu Mazen’s chosen successor.
The PA claims that Israel is currently turning down this request. His passing was mourned by various Palestinian militant groups, who also organized strikes in PA public schools and declared a national day of mourning.
