John Marlatt, a musician and the founder of “The Moonshine Cafe,” passed away and left behind his friends, family, and the Moonshine Cafe. He was from Oakville, Ontario. The legacy he leaves behind will have a significant effect on subsequent generations.

Many people must be curious to know the John Marlatt cause of death in light of the recent news. Keep reading to know more about the musician John Marlatt and his cause of death in detail.

Who was John Marlatt?

John Marlatt sings lead and plays rhythm guitar in an old-timey country style. Typically, the band consists of Ron Mueller on bass and harmony singing, Mimico Bill on slide guitar, lead, pedal steel, harmonica, and harmony singing. It’s a blast now and has always been.

The Moonshine Cafe is a unique venue for local live music. It is a centre of the neighbourhood where live performances by Oakville residents are held seven nights a week.

The Moonshine Cafe, which John and Jane Marlatt founded in 2006, is Oakville’s most exclusive arts venue. It has served as a launching pad for hundreds of young and upcoming musicians from Oakville over the years. Big-name performers including The Kings, The Sheepdogs, JP Cormier, Kevin Briet, and others have also performed on its stage.

It is not surprising that their business has suffered greatly as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, like that of many other places of entertainment, eating establishments, bars, and clubs. But when two friends and longtime Moonshine residents learned the cafe would close, they acted quickly.

The Moonshine’s interior seating capacity is 70, but normal patronage during the epidemic hasn’t topped 10-15 people per day, and live music performances have only been able to happen twice or three times per week rather than the typical concert every day.

The fact that most of the performers are from Oakville makes the Moonshine Cafe the most unique of all.

He will be missed dearly and daily by everyone who knew him. The Moonshine will never be the same without our Johnny Boy.

John and his beautiful Jane, made the atmosphere as close to a home feel as anyone could. Between sets, there was a mixed playlist of mostly independent, Canadian performers. We (Sisters Euclid) are filled with gratitude to John, not only for the support over the years but he kindly released a live recording from the Moonshine Cafe for his Moonshine Record Label. What a good, solid person. The best friend we ever had. We love you John!!!!”
