After being one of the ‘Gang of Four’ directors that controlled the team while it dominated the league in the 1980s, he had two stints at the club. He was born in Horwich, Lancashire, England, on May 8, 1941.
Lindsay was the owner of a contractor’s plant hire company as well as a bookmaker when he arrived in Wigan in 1980 to join Jack Robinson, Tom Rathbone, and Jack Hilton.
