According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a collision in Blowing Rock on Thursday afternoon resulted in the death of Harold Kelly Parsons of Lenoir and the injuries of two other people. Keep reading to know more about it in detail.

According to troopers, the collision took place close to the Watauga County line on U.S. 321 around 3:10 p.m.
A 2022 Chevrolet Silverado was struck by a 2004 Porsche 911 Carrera that was heading south on U.S. 321 when it crossed the centerline.
Harold Kelly Parsons, the 49-year-old Porsche driver, passed away there. According to the authorities, one of the car’s passengers suffered critical injuries and needed to be transported by medical helicopter to Johnson City Medical Centre.
EMS provided minor injuries treatment to the Silverado’s driver, Andrew Calvin Sigmon, 47, of Lincolnton, at the site.
A news release claims that the incident appears to have been caused by negligent and irresponsible driving.
For two hours, U.S. 321 in the vicinity was closed while the site was being investigated.

Some people have made comments regarding the accident scene they saw while travelling to their destinations.
One wrote: “This was horrific to witness. The scene was pretty scary. My daughter and I were driving back down the hill, merely a minute or so after it had happened. Emergency personnel hadn’t even had a chance to respond at that point. There was a brave lady waving traffic off to the right lane, but it was in the worst spot to do it. (In the curve going away from the Blowing Rock sign.) I am very sorry to hear that the gentleman passed, will continue to pray for the lady who was in the car with him.”
Another wrote: “So sad. We passed this right after it happened. There was a lady directing traffic. The wreck scene was so bad. There were people helping the lady in the passenger seat. Prayers to those involved. That is the worst stretch on that part of 321.”
