Reportedly, Tracy Moody passed away at his home from a heart attack. On Facebook, Vocalist Freddy Krumins shared the devastating news, and his post served as a poignant tribute to his dear friend, Tracy Moody.

Freddy Krumins shared the following message on Facebook:

I am sorry to have just heard about the passing of my former guitarist and good friend Tracy Moody. I am told he died at home from a heart attack. I do wish we had been in contact more in recent years. He was really a sweet and talented guy. I know many of you know him from studio seven. We had a band together in the early 90s called Bonetowne, and we wrote some cool songs together .

This is the band that came after Phoenixx & Atlantis Rising, and before Howard Leese Group for me. A group of pretty tight friends & players- both. Tracy went on to run Seattle metal venue- Studio Seven, and Tim & Mark later became touring players with Warrel Danes group Evermore. Our first/original drummer was Kevin Meriam. Bonetowne played alot of good gigs/Seattle venues. RIP brother.

Who was Tracy Moody?

Tracy Moody’s roots were firmly planted on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, where he spent his formative years. His early experiences were shaped by his youthful days, when at the tender age of 15, he found employment at the local pinball joint, affectionately known as “Uncle Al’s.” It was during this time that Tracy’s passion for music and socializing with friends truly flourished. He was already part of a band and was known for organizing lively kegger parties that became legendary among his circle of friends.

Tracy’s journey in life had seen him cover a significant distance before he embarked on the Studio 7 venture. His experiences working at Uncle Al’s and the joy of music and gatherings during his teenage years had contributed to his personal growth and shaped his outlook. When the day came for Studio Seven to close its doors, a part of the city’s soul seemed to close with it.

He actively contributed to several bands, including Bonetown and Christ Analogue, the latter being an American industrial rock group. In 1996, in their pursuit of gaining nationwide recognition, the band took it upon themselves to organize and headline their own tours throughout the United States. In a span of just two years, Christ Analogue managed to complete five national tours, which included performances alongside prominent acts such as Sheep on Drugs, 16 Volt, Electric Hellfire Club, Stabbing Westward, Insight 23, and they also made two appearances at the CMJ Musicfest.

The music community and the city of Seattle itself lost a cherished hub that had fostered creativity and a sense of belonging for many. Tracy was known not only for his role as the owner of Studio 7 but also as an unwavering supporter of the band Queensrÿche. His dedication extended beyond his role as a venue owner; he actively promoted the band and their events, and he consistently ensured that everyone who crossed the threshold of Studio 7 had an unforgettable time.

Zero Down Seattle Band wrote: “We just found out that our friend Tracy Moody had passed. I (hawk) had met Tracy thru friends and the Seattle music scene over 30 years ago. Once he became owner of studio 7 he began booking Zero Down for shows. He always greeted me with a big “hawkhug” and a smile I will never forget. He put us on some great shows there which helped us out in a big way. Let us shoot one of our videos there and took care of everyone involved. Always with that great smile. We did a few shows for him after studio 7 had shut down but it was never the same as going upstairs into the office to get my hug and talk business with him. Nicole our hearts thoughts and prayers go out to you during this terrible time..RIP Tracy you will always be remembered by Zero Down as one killer MUTHAFUCKAH!”

Skye Warden wrote: “I don’t do profile pic posts but I’ll just say it here.Tracy Moody passed away, he started studio 7. So it’s said, I know, no one and no venue is perfect, and I already know all the horror stories so just save it.Studio 7 is where a 20 year old Skye got a chance to play with his new band and Tracy was encouraging and uplifting to me and it had a real impact going forward. Lots of community made that place our own and it is a sad thing to see any of us go.”
