Lakewood, Washington community is mourning the loss of Ngaire Tusi aka Ngaire Silaulelei, a mother of seven, who was killed in a Tacoma murder incident.

Ngaire Silaulelei found dead in Tacoma:

Ngaire Silaulelei’s body was discovered in the 3100 Block of South Madison Street at 8:35 AM. She was discovered at Oakland Madrona Park beneath the picnic shelter.

Her family members confirmed that the victim’s name is Ngaire Tusi, and she is a well-known mother of seven children in the community.

“As detectives and crime scene technicians processed the scene of this morning’s death investigation, they confirmed that it was indeed a homicide. Consequently, this incident is now being treated as such,”  according to a news release from Tacoma Police Officer Shelbie Boyd.

Incident unfolds:

At 8:35 a.m., Tacoma police officers received a 911 call reporting that a woman in the 3100 block of South Madison Street was unresponsive.

Officers and medics rushed to the scene on South Madison Street at the Oakland Madrona Park. She was located under a picnic shelter at the far side of the park.

A Tacoma Police Department X post states that when officers arrived, they found an unconscious woman.

She was discovered unresponsive at around 830 in the morning and pronounced dead by the Tacoma fire department personnel when they arrived at the scene.

Investigation underway:

Tacoma police have launched a death investigation following her death on Monday. According to a news release from Tacoma police, the woman’s cause of death was determined to be ‘homicide’ by detectives and crime-scene technicians later in the day.

The police withheld all other details, including how she was killed. Her family claims she was shot and beaten. The locals also said that they heard gunshots in the neighborhood in the morning.

A spokesperson for Tacoma police says that there are no suspects in custody at this time. So far, neighbors say it’s shaken them a little. They woke up in the morning to the scene of the investigation right near them.
