Birmingham city is mourning the sudden death of president, Le’darius Hilliard. Le’Darius Hilliard, president of the state Democratic Executive Committee Birmingham and Jefferson County Executive Comm. has passed away unexpectedly on October 20, 2023. On social media, his friends and family have been expressing their sympathy and requesting people to remember Hilliard in their prayers.

Le’Darius Hilliard passed away:

Le’Darius Hilliard, a representative for District 60 in the Alabama House of Representatives has passed away on October 20, 2023. He passed away after a brief illness, leaving his friends and family members in a deep sorrow.

One of his friends posted this sad news on social media statement, that reads,

I’m in disbelief Le’Darius Hilliard I can’t believe you have me crying like this Rest In Heaven Thank you for being the Friend you were to many of us! God said your battle is over, you no longer have to fight! 

Derrick D. Jordan shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook post, saying,

The news I just got is heartbreaking!!! My fondest memory is one day I had the honor of serving in the pulpit with some AMAZING Pratt City Pastors and I was sweating with no towel!!! Brother Le’Darius Hilliard reached into the pocket of his suit and gave me his pocket square to wipe my face!!! He said “Pastor I wanted to make sure you were taken care of”!!! Brother Hilliard was truly a kind brother!!!

Who was Le’Darius Hilliard ?

Le’Darius Hilliard was a Democrat from Birmingham,AL – Jefferson County. He was elected to the state and county Democratic Executive Committees in 2016; served as president of the state Democratic Executive Committee since 2016.

Political experience:

Unsuccessful run for Alabama House of Representatives District 60 in 2018; elected to state and county Democratic Executive Committees in 2016; and recently served on state Democratic Executive Committee as president, 2016-present.

Experience in the field:

Le’Darius Hilliard acted as an intern at the legal office of Hilliard, Smith & Hunt LLC from 2011–2013. He served as an Alabama Education Association consultant in the schools of Birmingham, Bessemer, and Fairfield from 2014–2016; He acted as a consultant at One Touch Consulting LLC from 2015–present.

Educational background:

Hilliard was graduated from Meridian College, Meridian, Mississippi; Jefferson State Community College; Jackson Olin High School; Minor High School; St. Paul Elementary School; Daniel Payne Middle School.

Civic experience:

Hilliard led efforts to stop arson in Ensley; led opposition to legislation that stole $40 million from Birmingham City Schools; led the fight to raise the minimum wage and co-wrote the ordinance that passed for the city of Birmingham.

Le’Darius Hilliard passed away after a brief illness. However, the type of illness he suffered was not known. His sudden passing has made his loved one in a disbelief. His friends and relatives posted posts and asked everyone to pray for his full recovery. But unfortunately, Le’Darius passed away leaving everyone in a complete disbelief.

A well-known boxer, Markeith Hilliard also posted a tribute to Hilliard saying, “Le’Darius Hilliard   rest well cuzzo.”
