No words, but I’ll try… Jim Cotyk has been a friend of mine for as long as I’ve been playing music – since the late 90’s. I’ve listened to the morning show he and Zack Owen put on for many, many years. He’s been fighting an uphill battle for quite a while and I’m very saddened to hear of his passing. My condolences, thoughts and prayers go to his wife Melanie and their daughters, their family and friends, and so many people he touched over the years. Also to Zack and the WACO 100 family for their loss, he was a tremendous personality with a huge heart and could always make anyone laugh and smile. Damn.

Waking up to the sad news of my dear friend Jim Cotyk passing away. The day I met Zack and Jim I knew there was a great connection. They have been so supportive of my music since that day doing events and random studio visits. Jim was one hell of a guy and I’m sure gonna miss him.
We will be having an event for him this Sunday at K & W’s Bar & Grill. Y’all come out and show love and raise money. Upsets me that I won’t see my friend as I’d hoped at this one. Big prayers for the Waco 100 Texas #1 Country and Cotyk family.
Rest Easy My Friend now you can rock the heavens with all them Real Country Legends.

There are no words to describe the sadness in the passing of the legendary Jim Cotyk. WACO 100, the award winning Zack and Jim Morning Show, Central Texas Radio, the Heart O’ Texas Fair and Rodeo, and countless events will be forever changed. Jim was a kind and gentle soul who endlessly loved his amazing wife, Melanie, and their family. His brother from another mother, Zack Owen, and he are synonymous with good times, immense laughter and hilarious antics, great friends and countless listeners, kindness, intense love for our country, veterans, and active military, and tireless support of charitable events. They are my oldest friends in working radio. Cancer is cruel and unforgiving. Jim endured this with grace, dignity, strength, and a positive attitude. You will be loved, remembered, and missed forever. Your mark on the world and your legacy will be timeless. Rest easy, old friend. Love you, Jim.
