Officers from the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a complaint of a person dead in their house in the 3200 block of Kentyre Drive on September 14, 2023, at around 10:04 p.m.

When they arrived on the scene, they saw one female lying on the couch inside the house. She was declared dead at the spot. The deceased woman has been identified as 35-year-old Jessica Moore. Her family has been notified.

According to the preliminary inquiry, a male fled the location soon after the occurrence. The Southern Pines Police Department later that evening discovered a person inside a car; he was declared dead there and then. It has been established that the individual is the suspect in the homicide that took place in the 3200 block of Kentyre Drive.

His identity won’t be revealed until his family has been informed. But after conducting a thorough investigation, we discovered that the dead suspect was Tito Matos, a North Carolina native from Fayetteville.
