Fatal Crash in China Claims Life of 22-Year-Old Maine Woman

In a tragic incident unfolding on Wednesday, a 22-year-old woman from Maine, Faith Pomerleau of Winslow, lost her life, while her 20-year-old companion, also from Winslow, sustained severe injuries following a harrowing crash.

The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office reports that the fatal accident occurred around 4:05 p.m. on Maple Ridge Road in China.

According to eyewitness accounts provided to the authorities, a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, occupied by the two young individuals, veered off the road, colliding with a tree. Despite immediate response from emergency services, Faith Pomerleau succumbed to her injuries at the crash site.

The 20-year-old passenger, whose identity has not been disclosed, was initially transported to a hospital in Augusta and later airlifted to Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston due to the severity of their injuries.
